Merge SPF Records for Reliable Email Delivery

Managing multiple SPF records can lead to email delivery issues and confusion. By merging your SPF records, you ensure your emails are authenticated correctly and avoid potential errors. This guide walks you through combining SPF records efficiently, using GoDaddy as an example.

Find Your SPF Records in DNS Settings

• Log in to your hosting or service provider.

• Navigate to the DNS section.

• Identify where multiple SPF records are listed.

Combine Multiple SPF Records into One

1. Copy the SPF value from your secondary provider (e.g., Mailgun).

2. Click Edit on your primary SPF record.

3. Add a space at the end of the existing SPF record.

4. Paste the Mailgun SPF value after the space.

5. Click Save to update your SPF record.

6. Confirm both Google and Mailgun SPF values are now unified in one record.

Remove Duplicate SPF Records

1. Delete the previous Mailgun SPF record, since it's now merged.

2. This step is crucial to avoid duplicate SPF entries.

Conclusion

Merging your SPF records ensures your emails are authenticated by all providers without conflict. This simple process helps maintain deliverability and keeps your DNS records clean. If you use other hosting platforms, the steps are similar—just locate your DNS settings and follow the merge process.
